Mobile STEM Center

A New Way to Bridge the STEM Divide

Si Se Puede Foundation is proud to announce it has been awarded a grant from onsemi to build a self-sustaining, battery-powered Mobile STEM Center. This new mobile classroom will expand Si Se Puede’s existing STEM outreach, allowing the Foundation to bring hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) activities to underserved communities across Arizona.

Rooted in Si Se Puede Foundation’s mission to bridge the STEM divide and prepare underserved populations for the 21st-century workforce, the Mobile STEM Center will function as an adaptable outdoor classroom. With fold-out tables, chairs, and pop-up awnings, the innovative mobile center will allow instructors to conduct lessons and activities from a specially-designed trailer equipped to serve as the instructional focal point.

The Mobile STEM Center will operate independently of conventional power sources, featuring a battery system that enable it to function in remote locations far off the electrical grid. Additionally, a satellite internet connection will ensure the mobile STEM center remains connected, even in the most isolated areas, bringing state-of-the-art learning opportunities directly to communities that lack access to STEM resources.

Programs offered through the Mobile STEM Center include 3D printing, model rocketry, astronomy, solar oven building, LEGO Spike Prime robotics, basic electronics, and more. Each activity is designed to ensure students leave with hands-on experience and a tangible project, instilling a lasting connection to STEM and fostering curiosity and innovation in young learners.
